While the runners of the Zermatt Marathon pass the chapel on the Riffelberg and have the finish within reach, the runners of the Ultra Zermatt Marathon will still have exactly 3.4 kilometers and 514 high meters to achieve. The view from the Gornergrat at 3’089 meters is unique and will compensate for all the efforts.

The 42'195 m certified length of the course are marked all the year by means of white indicators with the Zermatt Marathon logo. At race date, complementary signs (authorized or forbidden ways) are put in place. Race controller directions are to be observed imperatively

Pickup of Start documentation and bib number
The start documentation and bib number will be ready to pick up in St. Niklaus. The racing office in St. Niklaus (School house opposite the Church) will be open:
Thursday: 1pm– 7pm
Friday: 10am – 8pm
Saturday: 6.45am – 8.15 am

Cancellation
The Zermatt Marathon Association does not reimburse the entry fee.

Functional Finisher T’Shirts, medal, pasta voucher, prizes for the three best per category, ranking on the internet, diploma.
As the finisher T-shirts are unisex, ladies need to order a size smaller. For example, those who normally wear size S, should for Zermatt Marathon, order a XS.
Awards in hard cash
Same awards in hard cash and in Swiss francs (CHF) are allocated to the 3 fastest runners „Men“ and to the 3 fastest runners „Women“. No starting bonus.

Luggage
Drop-off in St. Niklaus at the latest till 8.15 am near the church.
The luggage of the Ultra Zermatt Marathon runners will be transported to the Riffelberg. The shuttles will run in 12-minute intervals from the Gornergrat to Riffelberg. Thermal blankets are distributed to every athlete at the finish.
Infrastructure
The entire infrastructure (shower facilities, luggage transportation, massage) will remain on the Riffelberg.
Food and drinks
Between Riffelberg and Gornergrat there will be additional provision posts.

Wet weather ruling
Should adverse weather plauge the event, the managment holds the right to change the destination at short notice. The participants who have not been allowed to run to the Riffelberg due to bad weather will still be credited with the run.
Riffelberg as a finish for Ultra Marathon Runners
Runners who choose to stop on the Riffelberg and not continue up to Gornergrat Ultra Marathon finish line, will be included in the Marathon rankings. These runners will however, not be eligible for Zermatt Marathon category prizes or for awards in hard cash.
Presentation of Ultra Marathon Winners
Located at the party tent in Zermatt train station square, 7:15 pm all Ultra Marathon categories Rankings 1st – 3rd.
