The COVID-19 case numbers are falling, many people have already been vaccinated for the 1st or even 2nd time, and the Federal Council's opening steps give reason to hope for a return to some normality and freedom.
The organizers are holding on to the Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon because of the opening steps that have been announced. If the development continues to be so promising, the starting signal for the running adventure on the most beautiful mountain in the world will be given on 3 and 4 July 2021 after a year's break; naturally in compliance with all the prescribed safety measures.
The 19th Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon will take place on July 3rd and 4th, 2021 in compliance with a strict protection concept.
Anyone who has been vaccinated (2nd vaccination must be before June 22, 2021), has recovered or is tested negative (no self-test, PCR test not older than 72 hours or rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours) can participate. There is a test center in St. Niklaus and Zermatt where runners can test themselves free of charge.
