The Organisation Committee of the Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon are very proud to be the venue of the 12th WMRA Long Distance World Mountain Runnung Championship on July 4, 2015. About 2,500 runners from 50 different nations will be at the start together with the World Champions and can experience this unique event first hand.

The men and women selected and entered by a National Athletic Federation will take part, for the time, to the WMRA
Long Distance Mountain Running Championships and the winners will be able to call themselves “World Champion”!

The Openings ceremony is on Friday, 03rd July 2015 in Zermatt

  8.30am           Start for the 12th WMRA
                         Long Distance Mountain Running World Championship
  8.35am           Start for the 14th Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon
  1.45pm           Flower Ceremony
                         For the 3 first winners of each category (male and female)

Finishers party   
The finish party will be held after the race on Saturday, 04th July 2015, around 8:15pm, at the conclusion
of the championship presentation, in Zermatt, Bahnhofplatz, in the Party Tent.

World Championships Party   
The World Championships Party will be held on 4th July 2015, at approx 8:30pm in Zermatt,
at the party tent on the Bahnhof square. Bring your dancing shoes. Race participants and their guests are welcome.
