An immensity of wild nature along this marathon course of 42.195 kilometres awaits discovery. A staggering elevation of more than 1’900 metres will have to be surmounted to win the race starting in St. Niklaus at 1’116 metres above sea level, up to the world-famous resort of Zermatt (1’616 m.a.s.l.), and finishing on Riffelberg, towering 2,585 metres above sea level amidst of 29 four-thousand-meter summits
...or, the ‘Ultra-Starter’ – where the finish line awaits you at the Gornergrat!

Come and join us this year and enjoy an unforgettable training day in the amazing mountainous surrounds of Zermatt. Together with our main sponsor, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, we are organising a training run on this years refurbished Zermatt Marathon course on Saturday 1st June 2013. Under the keen expert supervision of last year 7th placed Zermatt Marathon finisher (and the fastest ‘Upper Walliser’ mountain runner), Martin Schmid will supervise the training run along the actual Zermatt Marathon course.

Registration for the Zermatt Ultra Marathon is now closed. The limited 600 places for the running adventure between St. Niklaus and Gornergrat have all been allocated. As of now however, you can register to buy or sell start places on the online exchange service.
We're supporting the charity ‘Oberwallis for Children of this world’
In support of the charity ‘Oberwallis for Children of this World’, The Zermatt Marathon will donate 1 CHF for every finisher of the 12th Zermatt Marathon on the 6th July 2013.
